New Super Mario Bros. U is a video game developed by Nintendo for the Wii U console. It was first introduced in June 2011 as New Super Mario Bros. Mii. This title was developed at the same time as New Super Mario Bros. 2, and was released on the same day as Wii U. As of September 2015, the game has sold 4.88 million copies worldwide, making it the third best-selling game on the Wii U, behind only Mario Kart 8 and Nintendo Land.An enhanced adaptation, titled New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, was released for the Nintendo Switch in January 2019. It all starts when Bowser and the Koopalings, mounted on their flying ships, storm Princess Peach’s castle. Bowser, with a large claw from his ship, grabs and throws Mario, Luigi and the Toads pe, who were talking calmly with Peach, away from there. From that moment, Bowser takes control of the castle, and Mario goes through the worlds (which are connected as in Super Mario World) until he reaches Peach’s Castle, completely transformed. A new item, called Super Acorn, is the new item in this game and with it the character turns into a flying squirrel and can fly.On the other hand, as far as controls are concerned, you can play with Wii remotes, Wii U Pro or with the Wii U GamePad. The GamePad allows you to play without a TV. A novelty is that for the first time there is a Mario game in HD and that it can be played by up to 5 players, a Wii U Gamepad and 4 Wii Remotes.
